Integrating Anatomy & Physiology with Medical Qigong

Time and Date:TBA
Location: TBA
Cost: TBA
Bring: Massage tables (1 for each pair)
Texts: Order through Chapters, UBC bookstore, Banyen Books

Essential:

  • Essential Anatomy for Healing & Martial Arts (Marc Tedeschi) [$20-$40]
  • The Anatomy Coloring Book (Wynn Kapit) [$20]
  • Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy (Jerry Allan Johnson)

Optional:

  • McMinns Color Atlas of the Human Body (R.H. Abrahams) [this is a cadaver anatomy text; I have the 5th edition; the new 6th edition is called "McMinn's Clinical Atlas of Human Anatomy with DVD" [$90]

If you do not want to get the texts mentioned above you will still need an alternate anatomy & physiology textbook and a meridian & acu-point location text (preferable with what is anatomically there "under" the point e.g. nerves, blood vessels, muscle, etc). I encourage all of the participants to bring all (or most) of their body-texts so we have multiple resources.

Learn:

We will deepen our study of the 14 meridians & the anatomy at the point location, thereby learning anatomy and physiology as we work through the meridians & points. We will perform Qigong & give treatments to explore what we have learned in order to integrate both anatomy & physiology with Medical Qigong.
